The synthesis gases exiting the gasifier contain sufficient heating value to be used as a fuel for combustion driven engines or turbines, or to be converted into synthetic organic liquids. However, these uses require that the synthesis gases are both cool, about 100°F, and cleansed of any entrained ash or condensed organics. Primenergy has a patented process that cools the synthesis gas and removes particulates and condensed organics to the cleanliness specification of internal combustion engines or gas turbines.
